25 Photos: Sayville’s Mini-Miracle on Main Street is a major success

|

Families looking for great sales and holiday cheer found it in abundance at the Greater Sayville of Commerce’s 14th annual holiday fair in downtown Sayville and West Sayville on Saturday.

Warm temperatures and the festively decorated stores provided an ideal backdrop for “Mini-Miracle on Main Street” and “Shop Small Saturday,” which is typically an all-day-and-evening bonanza called Miracle on Main Street, but was scaled back a bit this year.

Bargains could be had at every store, trolley rides were available between Sayville and West Sayville, the Gingerbread contest was in full force and Santa Claus was his genuine jolly self.

“The pandemic has changed so many things for our families, and most of our holiday traditions have been altered,” said Greater Sayville of Commerce President Eileen Tyznar. “The chamber wanted to provide a combination of a safe Shop Small Saturday event to help our downtown businesses rebound, and also give the families a sense of tradition that our town is known for.

“We came up with the name ‘Mini-Miracle’ this year because, well, we feel it is!”

GreaterSayville.com was downtown to catch all the fun. Check out the festive time captured in the photos below. Be sure to click on boxes 2, 3, 4 and 5 to see them all.
