Lion pride was on full display this weekend during West Islip’s homecoming festivities.
Kicking off with the school district’s homecoming parade on Saturday, Oct. 28, students, community groups and school organizations came together to march down Higbie Lane to West Islip High School.
Youth football and cheerleading teams, the high school marching band and member of the homecoming court helped lead the way in the parade, which included homecoming floats from each of the high school’s four classes.
West Islip’s football team defeated Centereach, 35-27, in front of a large homecoming day crowd. The junior class won the float compteition.
