Bay Shore’s first bed and breakfast, The Ocean Bay House, will be opening this winter or spring.
In the meantime, GreaterBayShore went on a tour with general manager (and B&B veteran) Colleen McGrath at 69 Ocean Avenue.
During this past year of construction, McGrath traversed Long Island from Manhattan to Southold in search of furnishings for the B&B’s nine bedrooms (including one suite) and common areas.
It’s been worth the effort. Check out the photos below for a complete virtual tour.
First, some background:
The grand colonial that now houses the Ocean Bay House was built in 1890 for entertaining, and was originally an annex to the Prospect House, which was large enough to accommodate 200 visitors before it burned in 1903, according to the Bay Shore Historical Society website.
