Toast Coffeehouse will be opening at night in Bay Shore for private parties

|

First off, the much anticipated opening of Toast Coffeehouse in Bay Shore has not arrived just yet — ownership is still working with the Town of Islip on approvals.

For the uninitiated, all Toast locations (the other two are in Patchogue and Port Jefferson) serve only breakfast and lunch. The restaurants each close around 3:30 p.m. daily.

But now Toast Coffeehouse Events is launching.

The big news for Toast fans, or for anyone looking to throw a party, is the restaurants in Patchogue and (soon) Bay Shore will be available for private parties at night.

“It’s hard to find a restaurant that doesn’t have a private room that will give you the restaurant on a Friday or Saturday night. But we have that restaurant,” said Linda Shapiro, Toast’s catering and event coordinator.

And unlike in Patchogue, which serves only beer and wine, the Bay Shore Toast will have a full liquor license. Toast is also offering off-site catering.

“We have dinner menus, fondue, tapas,” said Shapiro. “We want people to know we’re so much more than great breakfast … We could do barbecue in your backyard if you wanted.”

Parties could start as early as 6 p.m.

Anyone interested should submit inquiries here.

And check back at GreaterBayShore for details on the restaurant’s eventual opening on Gibson Street, in what used to be Hemisphere.

In the meantime, those interested in a party in Patchogue can visit Toast’s catering showcase on March 1. The event is free for anyone planning a party. You can check out the space at 46 East Main Street in Patchogue and sample food.
