Record Stop is throwing a grand reopening Block Party Saturday in Patchogue

|

They’re pulling out all the stops at Record Stop for Saturday’s grand re-opening in Patchogue.

The music store from Portion Road in Ronkonkoma, which had closed in 2010, reopened on Railroad Avenue this spring.

Saturday’s Block Party will feature an outside beer garden, top local bands, giveaways such as autographed records, box sets and concert tickets, grub from Farm to Truck and Bruce Berg, the man who opened the original Record Stop in 1974.

The party runs from noon to 4 p.m. and Railroad Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic.

Record Stop is also offering 10 percent off all merchandise until closing at 9 p.m.

“We have a couple different acts but the headliner is Billboard Live,” said Record Stop owner Jeff Berg.

They’ve also booked a DJ and a live percussionist.

This is a rain or shine event. There will be a ribbon cutting at around 1:15 p.m.

The address is 30-32 Railroad Avenue (map below).
