The Women of West Islip headed to McQuire’s Comedy Club in Bohemia last week for a special night of comedy to raise money for college scholarships.
Eight comedians took the stage last Thursday night, April 27, with the event raising $2,000 for three graduating West Islip students to use for college.

“It’s so nice because the scholarships are awarded to three young women who are community minded and philanthropic in their actions, which is what WOWI is all about,” said Jennifer Mercurio, a Women of West Islip member.
85 people, women and men, attended. The students’ names will be announced later this spring.
