Silver Alert: Help police find a 68-year-old Patchogue man who went missing

Suffolk Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 68-year-old Patchogue man who was last seen Tuesday morning, Oct. 10, in the backyard of his River Avenue home.

Lawrence Werner is described as white, 6 foot 4, and about 200 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and a long bear.

He is also diabetic and schizophrenic, according to police.

Werner was wearing a shirt featuring a baseball logo of sorts and carrying a brown satchel when he left the area on foot Tuesday, Oct. 10, at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911 or the Fifth Precinct at 631-854-8552.

Silver Alert is a Suffolk County-wide program that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about residents with special needs reported missing in the county.
