Patchogue seeks public input for $150K in community development block grants

In October of 2018 the Village of Patchogue expects to receive approximately $150,000 in Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds.

These funds may be used, and have been previously used for a variety of projects to be selected by local officials. Eligible activities include: Acquisition and demolition of blighted property; Elimination of Physical Barriers for the Handicapped; Public Facilities and Improvements; Street Reconstruction; Public Art; Economic Development; Public Services (Limited to 15%)

The activities must be designed to primarily benefit low to moderate income persons and/or aid in the prevention or elimination of slum and blight or to meet an urgent need.

Past projects include the Roe Walkway, the Arch at Roe Walkway, Installation of the Staudinger Arch, and the mural at Furman Square.

Village Residents are invited to attend a public hearing on Dec. 7, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Patchogue Village Hall at 14 Baker Street to share thoughts and ideas for CDBG projects.
