20 photos from Patchogue’s New Year’s Eve ball rise over Main Street

|

Patchogue swelled with New Year’s Eve revelers who braved record-setting cold temperatures to watch the ball rise for 2018.

The New Year’s Eve countdown at the Midnight on Main St. celebration happens each year at 9 p.m., allowing for a family friendly party in the streets.

Below are 20 photos from the night, which culminated in a Fireworks By Grucci display after a countdown led by chief sponsor Michael Cirigliano of the Cirigliano Insurance Agency on Route 112 in Patchogue.

Aerial and street-level photos by John Collins of Yellow House Images for GreaterPatchogue.

Editor’s note: GreaterPatchogue had planned to conduct an hour-long live broadcast but was experiencing technical difficulties. Then the bitter cold disabled our devices.
