Free showers, haircuts, flu shots and more Feb. 28 in Patchogue

|

First it was free showers through a mobile shower unit, now the Congregational Church of Patchogue is adding free haircuts for men and women on Feb. 28.

But there’s more. There will also be free flu shots; a free hot meal; free clothing (socks, underwear, gloves, shirts, sweaters and other items); free blankets; free toiletries, free candy; and free compassion and caring will be distributed, according to the church’s leaders.

There’s no proof of need or proof of residency required.

The mobile unit first rolled up to the church in the fall and is being provided by the Hands Across Long Island, which according to the Rev. Dwight Wolter, the church’s pastor, is sponsored by the Suffolk County Office of Mental Health.

The church is located at 95 East Main Street in Patchogue (map below).
