5K Route, road closures announced for Sunday in Patchogue

|

This is a message from the Village of Patchogue regarding the St. Patrick’s Parade and 5K this coming Sunday, March 18, in the village.

BE ADVISED:

On Sunday, March 18, the Village of Patchogue and its Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Greater Patchogue Foundation, will be presenting the 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and May the Road Rise to Meet Ye 5K.

The 5K starts at Rider Avenue and East Main Street at 11:55 am, and continues west on Main Street to West Avenue, then heads north up the spur on Waverly Avenue through the circle, turning east on 9th to Central, south on Central around the park, north on Lake Shore Drive, east on Roe and then south on Shore Road, east on West Lakewood, south on Jennings. The race finishes at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Our responsibilities to the residents and runners require traffic in these areas to be subject to brief closures and detours. The Waverly Avenue spur will be closed to traffic from the circle east to East Main Street and Clare Rose Boulevoard.

Waverly Avenue, Central Avenue, Lake Shore Road, Roe Boulevard, Shore Road, Ketcham, Gillette, Lakewood, Cedar Grove, Thorne, and Jennings, will be subject to brief rolling closures.

Jennings Avenue, south of Cedar Grove, will be closed southbound to Lake Street at 9 a.m. The finish line will be erected north of the firehouse. Jennings Ave will re-open after the finish line is dismantled.

Residents of Jennings who will be affected by the street closure are encouraged to park in the Lake Street parking lot. We are asking that all the cars be removed from the roadway in the finish area by 8 am.

We apologize for the inconvenience of these street closures.

Please come out and cheer on the runners.
