2018 Shelter’s Choice Awards & Adoptathon
Staffers at the Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center in Bay Shore are getting set to host their big annual Shelter’s Choice Awards and Adoptathon on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Cuteness on overload starts at 11 a.m. and runs to 3 p.m., during which time attendees and would-be pet parents can see the town’s “all-star dogs walk the red carpet and receive dog bone awards for different categories that you, the public, get to vote on!” reads a town news alert.
Dog and cat adoptions fees will be discounted during the event, but everyone is welcome to attend. There will be raffle prizes and plenty of vendors offering their own pet-related products.
The shelter is located at 210 South Denver Ave in Bay Shore. Dog and cat adoptions will be discounted to $70, according to the shelter. They will have rabbits and guinea pigs available as well.
