One thing is certain: The Islip Village Cemetery did exist.
Everything else gets kind of hazy, such as why it was moved and where it was located, exactly — though we do know it was on the west side of what’s now Pardee Avenue.
And the big question surrounding its abandonment is this: What happened to the bodies?
The mystery was tackled in a recent post on the Islip Public Library’s website.
