The popular New York City smashburger chain 7th Street Burger is expanding deeper onto Long Island.
The fast-growing brand is set to open its second Long Island location โ and first in Suffolk County โ in Lake Grove, Greater Long Island has confirmed.
The new restaurant is coming to 1995 Nesconset Highway, near Smith Haven Mall, inside a newly constructed building in the shopping center that currently houses CityMD.
7th Street Burger is targeting a fall opening.

The Lake Grove restaurant follows the chainโs first Long Island location, which opened last summer at 524 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola, inside the former home of The Rex.
โWe like to think of ourselves as the โIn-N-Out Burgerโ of the East Coast,โ founder Kevin Rezvani previously told Greater Long Island.
Rezvani launched the first 7th Street Burger in Manhattanโs East Village in April 2021. At the time, the New Jersey native was sleeping on a friendโs couch and had accumulated about $60,000 in credit card debt to get the business off the ground.
The restaurant quickly developed a following for its no-frills approach to smashburgers.

โFor some reason, we became cool and trendy right after it opened,โ Rezvani said. โWe hit it and it took off.โ
The menu remains simple, featuring single and double cheeseburgers, a vegetarian burger and fries. Customers can also add jalapeรฑos to any item.
โWe donโt worry about aesthetics. We are food-based,โ Rezvani said. โWe want people to say, โOh, this is a good burger,โ and not worry about taking pictures for Instagram.โ
Rezvani has described the concept as simple and affordable, particularly as prices continue to rise at traditional fast-food chains.
โAll we care about is having a good meal at a good price,โ he said. โThe prices at some of those larger fast-food burger chains are so expensive now.โ
The chain has grown to more than 20 locations across New York City and has also expanded into Hoboken and Washington, D.C.
When Greater Long Island first reported on the Mineola opening, Rezvani said additional Long Island locations were already in the works.
โWe are pretty confident people are going to love what we offer,โ he said.
