Original story: Another winter storm warning has been issued for western Suffolk County, with the National Weather Service predicting 4 to 8 inches across the area Monday.
The warning will be in effect from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The snow was expected to start late Sunday, near midnight, with the heaviest falling during the Monday morning commute into the afternoon.
Hazards include heavy snow and wind, with gusts reaching 35 mph, according to the Weather Service. Temperatures will be in the low 30s.
Weather Service meteorologists are also warning of falling power lines and tree limbs due to the combination of strong wind and wet snow, as well as reduced driving visibilities. Near blizzard conditions are expected.
People should travel on Monday only in the event of an emergency, according to the NWS.
