Ocean Beach to host 3-day Seafood & Music Festival on Fire Island

|

The newly formed Ocean Beach Chamber of Commerce is moving quickly on events and promotions in the island village with a first Annual Seafood & Music Festival set for next week.

The festival runs from Tuesday, Aug. 6, to Thursday Aug. 8, and will offer seafood dining specials starting at $19.95 with live music at each participating Ocean Beach restaurant.

The music will play from noon to 10 p.m. at each location during the three-day festival.

The Ocean Beach chamber was formed this spring.

“For several years there has been discussion among the Ocean Beach business community to form a Chamber of Commerce to help represent the needs of the business community to the Village of Ocean Beach and the Islip Township,” said a chamber co-president, Chris Mercogliano,

“We are very excited about the level of participation from the local businesses,” he added.

A big goal of the chamber is to attract more beach goers and vacationers to the village.

“Our Seafood and Music Festival is our first collaborative effort of our membership to create an event to bring new and returning visitors to the village,” says Sean Klentzin, who chairs the chamber’s marketing committee.

The three day event is rain or shine. Click here for more information.
