Police arrested a West Sayville woman Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a Sayville jogger with serious injuries days earlier, cops said.
Heather Foster, 50, was nabbed on Cherry Avenue in Sayville at 9:28 a.m., following a joint investigation by Suffolk Police’s Major Case Unit and Fifth Squad detectives.
She is charged Foster was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious physical injury.
Detectives executed a search warrant at Foster’s home and seized a 2021 Mazda CX-5 believed to be the vehicle involved in the crash. She is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.
Michele Walters, 60, of Sayville, was struck while jogging on Brook Street, west of Cherry Avenue, at about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday. A 911 caller reported finding Walters injured on the side of the road, and officers arrived at 5:44 a.m.
She was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries.
