A Farmingdale man has a ton of extra cash in his pocket this week cashing in the winning New York Lottery ticket scratch-off ticket at a grocery store near Republic Airport.

Joseph Armenti claimed a $1 million second prize on New York Lottery’s VIP Millions scratch-off game, lottery officials announced Tuesday. After required withholdings, he received a one-time lump sum payment of $651,010.

Armenti purchased his lucky ticket at Stew Leonard’s, located at 261 Airport Plaza in Farmingdale.

Lottery officials said nine $1 million second prizes and two $5 million top prizes remain on the VIP Millions scratch-off game.

Players can check the status of any scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.
