Medford man turns $30 spin into $213K jackpot at Jake’s 58

For a lot of casino visitors, a $30 wager is barely a warm-up. But for one player at Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel, it was all he needed.

A Medford man visiting the Islandia venue hit a massive jackpot on a single spin of a Golden Fire Link slot machine. His one wager won him $213,000 — the biggest payout the Islandia venue has seen in months.

The player, who asked not to be identified, struck the jackpot with a $30 bet, setting off a wave of cheers from fellow guests on the casino floor as lights flashed and the winning total appeared on the screen.

Jake’s 58 officials said it is the largest jackpot awarded at the casino since January.
