Mister Softee opens fourth Suffolk storefront in Oakdale on July 1

|

Mister Softee is bringing year-round soft serve to Oakdale.

The soft ice cream chain has scheduled a grand opening of its new shop at 4538 Sunrise Highway for Wednesday, July 1.

The store, opening near the Oakdale McDonald’s, will offer the chain’s classic cones, shakes, sundaes and sprinkles, the store announced via its Instagram account.

“The wait is almost over,” the company wrote, inviting fans to “come celebrate with us, grab a cone, and help us kick off our grand opening the sweetest way possible.”

The Oakdale location marks Mister Softee’s fourth Long Island brick-and-mortar storefront, following a rapid rollout that began in East Islip in March 2025 and has continued roughly every few months since. Mister Softee shops are open in Center Moriches and East Islip; another is coming soon to Aliano Shopping Center on Route 25A in Miller Place.

“This is dangerous!” quipped Liz Kearsing Garone on Mister Softee’s Facebook post announcing the grand opening. “Welcome to the neighborhood.”

Mister Softee broadening its LI footprint

Mister Softee first tested Long Island storefronts in East Islip, taking over the former Pam’s Ice Cream Shoppe. That location was followed in September by a second shop in Center Moriches, owned by Antonio Guler, who took over the former Ultimate Ice Cream & Ice space and kept several of that shop’s signature offerings, including its $1.50 cone special.

Brothers Steven and Andrew Zoly — longtime Mister Softee truck operators across the Port Jefferson area — are targeting an oepning later this year in Miller Place.
