Greater East End coverage is funded in part by The Watershed Kitchen & Inn — a warm, stylish North Fork destination in S. Jamesport featuring elevated comfort food, craft cocktails and beautiful boutique accommodations.
The team behind the popular Amalfi Coastal Kitchen in Hampton Bays has expanded to the North Fork, opening a second location inside one of Long Island’s most recognizable waterfront landmarks.
Amalfi at Claudio’s officially opened Thursday in Greenport, bringing the restaurant’s blend of coastal Italian cuisine, fresh seafood and relaxed hospitality to the historic Claudio’s property.
The new location marks the latest venture for owner Salvatore Biundo and his team, whose original Hampton Bays restaurant opened in July 2024 after operating Centro Trattoria in Hampton Bays from 2016 through 2024.
“With the great success of Amalfi Coastal Kitchen in Hampton Bays, we thought joining the team at Claudio’s was a great addition to the North Fork,” Biundo told Greater Long Island.
“We wanted to create the feeling of escaping to the Italian coast without leaving the North Fork.”
Biundo said guests can expect fresh Italian flavors, beautifully prepared seafood and pasta dishes, warm hospitality and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere.
“Whether you’re joining us for a sunset dinner, a family celebration or a casual meal by the harbor, Amalfi at Claudio’s is designed to transport you while honoring the history and spirit of Claudio’s,” he said.
A taste of Amalfi
The menu builds upon the Hampton Bays concept while leaning into Claudio’s waterfront setting with seafood-forward dishes and Italian favorites.
Guests will find everything from local oysters, tuna tacos and lobster salad at the raw bar to appetizers like Fried Calamari Casino, Crispy Burrata and Sicilian Artichokes.
Pasta selections include Crab Mafaldine, Linguini Vongole and Cavatelli Carbonara, while entrées range from Chicken Milanese and Shrimp Saltimbocca to Wild Salmon and New York strip steak. The restaurant also offers pizzas, salads and an unexpected Crispy Sushi Rice appetizer alongside its Italian offerings.
Biundo said the team also wants to create an experience that keeps guests coming back throughout the week.
“We’re creating an experience that gives guests a reason to return all week long,” he said. “We’ll have daily happy hour, weekday prix fixe specials, live music and entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, and relaxed Sunday sunset DJ sessions by the water.”
