Suffolk Police rescued a father and his two children Sunday afternoon after their jet ski capsized in the Great South Bay, sending all three into the water off Sayville.
The watercraft hit a wave and flipped at about 3:55 p.m., throwing Christopher Cruise, 31, his 16-year-old daughter Isabella Donoghue, and his son Christopher Cruise, 10, into the bay, police said.
A witness called 911, and officers from the department’s Marine Bureau responded within minutes. Officers Keith Miller and Robert King, aboard Marine Juliet, and Officers Gary Quenzer and Chad Murray, aboard Marine Mike, deployed life rings and pulled all three from the water.
The dad and his children were wearing life jackets and were not injured, police said.
