|

Bay Shore High School’s Class of 2017’s valedictorian and salutatorian have been named.

During a school board meeting last week, senior Mattea Gravina was honored as the class’s valedictorian, while her classmate, Emily Albergo, was named salutatorian.

Gravina plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Albergo is headed to Carnegie Mellon University.

“We are extremely proud of these two bright, talented young women,” said Bay Shore Superintendent Joseph Bond. “They both worked hard and dedicated themselves to their studies and are now reaping the benefits of their persistence. They represent the very best that Bay Shore has to offer and are both a testament to our programs. ”

“We wish them continued success in their future endeavors,” he added.
