WKND Outpost, a garage-turned-lifestyle boutique, has opened down off of East Main Street in Bay Shore.
The business address is 52 East Main Street, but the actual entrance is through the garage doors found closest to Gibson Street.
“We are thrilled to finally be open after almost a year of research, planning and construction,” said Jessica Cunha, owner of WKND Outpost. “I had my eye on Bay Shore for a while now, and took notice when a slew of new businesses opened. I wanted to be part of that energy.”
The transformation from garage to boutique came to life through the help of a interior designer group called, Et al. Collaborative.
Now, the shop has the feel of an art gallery, but with shelves filled with gift items, Cunha said.
Items WKND Outpost carries include home goods, specialty foods, apparel and an assortment of gifts.
“My goal is to have an outlet for not just local products, but a lot of the products I carry are from smaller batch makers,” said Cunha, who lives in Bay Shore.
As of now, WKND Outpost will be open four days a week, Thursday to Sunday. The shop will be open hours 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
