For 100 years, the nonprofit Lions Club Intentional has prided itself on giving back to its communities. To recognize the organization’s centennial year, the Bay Shore’s Lions Club honored 100 community leaders Sunday at Captain Bill’s Bayview House in Bay Shore.

The honorees were picked because of “their contributions to help make the Bay Shore Brightwaters community the special town it has become,” said Thomas Cerino of the Bay Shore Lions Club.
The Bay Shore Lions Club itself was formulated in 1931, which made it the first of its kind in Suffolk County, according to its website.
