New and improved, the Town of Islip’s revamped website goes live on Monday.
The new site keeps the same URL address, www.islipny.gov, offers a fully responsive design, and scales pages to fit comfortably on all mobile devices. Content on the site has been reorganized for easier navigation.
Eight “Quick Access” icons on the homepage give immediate access to regularly sought-after content, including: town documents; waste disposal information; online government services and Long Island MacArthur Airport information.
“We are very pleased to offer this new easy-to-use website to residents who live within or outside the Town of Islip,” Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter said. “Quick Access icons make it simple to locate documents, online government services, and a new ‘smart search’ icon provides fast, site-wide results.”
The site also includes the following additional features:
- A robust “How Do I…” menu anticipates user queries and provides quick link access to popular information.
- New “smart search” search icon provides fast site-wide results, including everything from employment opportunities to summer camps and other town-wide offerings.
- The search icon remains accessible on every page, with search keywords now applying to all documents.
- The calendar can now be searched via category for a complete list of all town board meetings, change of zone meetings and town events.
- A video carousel on the homepage.
