A whopping 37 athletes from Connetquot High School’s Class of 2022 are set to continue playing sports in college, the school district announced.
At Connetquot’s recent College Recognition Ceremony for Athletes, the graduating seniors announced their intentions to keep participating in their sports at NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III programs, as well as at junior college programs.
Peter Melore, director of health, physical education, athletics and recreation at Connetquot, suggested to the group that college athletics will feel “business-like” but that the key to their success will be to “go back to your foundation” and talk to their support structure. Connetquot hosts its 2022 commencement ceremony on Thursday, June 23.
