Long Island-based Lacrosse Unlimited is partnering with Port Jefferson’s Save-A-Pet USA to help rescued cats and dogs find forever homes.
The lacrosse equipment chain will feature the adoptable pets in social media posts and in email blasts to customers. The company will use its Facebook and Instagram channels to post pictures of the rescued animals and provide information on how to donate to the Save-A-Pet mission.
“We are all pet lovers here at Lacrosse Unlimited,” said the company’s founder and CEO Joe DeSimone. “In fact, we typically have a dog or two at the office every day. We know the joy they bring to our lives, and we want to help others experience this bond by adopting one of these rescued animals that are desperate need for a loving, caring home.”
Save-A-Pet USA is a no-kill animal shelter that saves, cares and finds homes for abused, abandoned and homeless cats and dogs. Founded in Hauppauge, Lacrosse Unlimited now has 45 stores nationwide, including outlets in Sayville, Babylon, Smithtown, Bethpage and Miller Place.
“It was clear the first second they visited us at the shelter that the people at Lacrosse Unlimited are animal lovers,” said Dori Scofield, founder and president of Save-A-Pet USA. “We are so thrilled they have decided to help us raise the visibility of our available animals and bring focus to our greater mission.”
DeSimone added, “These animals can’t speak for themselves. It’s up to us to raise our voices, any way we can, to let people know about this incredible and beautiful animals. It’s a privilege to help this wonderful organization…”
