North Shore University Hospital at Northwell Health ranks among the top 22 “honor roll” hospitals in the country and is tied for first across New York state, according to rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report.
The Manhasset healthcare facility is one of eight Long Island hospitals ranked among the best 30 hospitals in the state and top 484 U.S. hospitals.
Highly ranked across the country in nine specialties, North Shore also merited “High Performing Hospitals” badges for 15 procedures and conditions. North Shore is one of eight Northwell hospitals ranked highly in New York.
“Every day, I see the amazing care our team delivers to our patients and that is reflected in these impressive rankings,” Northwell Health President and CEO Michael Dowling said. “We are proud to see Northwell recognized as New York state’s most-awarded health system.
“These last few years have been challenging, but we have never stopped working to raise the health of the patients and communities we serve,” he added.
U.S. News — as part of its 34th edition of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals rankings — evaluated 207 hospitals in New York. Thirty-three meet high U.S. News standards and are ranked in the state. The following Long Island hospitals ranked among the best in the state.
No. 1 (tie) — North Shore University Hospital at Northwell Health
No. 6 — Long Island Jewish Medical Center at Northwell Health in New Hyde Park
No. 6 — St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center in Roslyn
No. 11 — Huntington Hospital at Northwell Health
No. 12 — South Shore University Hospital at Northwell Health in Bay Shore
No. 16 — Stony Brook University Hospital
No. 29 (tie) — Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside
No. 29 (tie) — Plainview Hospital at Northwell Health
