Bango Bowls is about to open its first franchise operation on Long Island. And there are more on the way, en route to the goal of hundreds across the Tri-State area.
The new Hauppauge location is set to open sometime this June in the former Dickey’s Barbecue Pit location at 812 Wheeler Road, Suite 105, right in the heart of the hamlet.
It’ll be operated by two brothers and Sachem High graduates: Eric Campan of Holtsville, also the owner of C & S Home Builders, Inc., and Patrick Pyne of Farmingville, who founded Magnif-a-Tent, which operates out of Bohemia.
The health-conscious brothers pooled the money earned from their separate businesses to finally go into business together by pledging to open three Bango Bowls.
They’re hoping for even more, depending no how things go.
But they’re confident.
“Our mother is Italian so we have an affinity for food, that’s for sure,” Pyne said. “But we always tried to both stay somewhat healthy. I play hockey, though I’m not in the gym as much, as of late.
“So having a healthy, delicious and convenient option like Bango Bowls really appealed to us.”
“We fell in love with the brand and the franchise system that is being built by the founders,” Campan added.
Hauppauge will mark the eighth Bango Bowls location on Long Island and Westchester, with another franchise group having just penned a deal to open a Centereach location later this year.
All Bango Bowls stores serve salads, warm grain bowls, poke bowls, acai bowls, flaninis and avocado toasts — a menu that immediately drew Campan, an avid gym guy, to the brand.
He later convinced his brother to come on board.
“We have become that ‘better-for-you option’ for the entire family,” said CEO Ryan Thorman.

For potential Bango Bowls franchisees, the company has been building a foundation for a “true support system to put them in the best possible position to become successful,” Thorman said.
Bango Bowls is also looking to set a new bar for standards supporting their franchise partners.
