Babies ‘R’ Us is making its return to Long Island with these locations

|

Babies “R” Us is making a big comeback across the U.S., including on Long Island, all thanks to Kohl’s.

Kohl’s, the Wisconsin-based department store chain, announced plans in March to open Babies “R” Us stores inside existing locations to cater to more families. They have now updated how many of its 1,174 locations will have a Babies “R” Us section.

“Available in 200 stores, along with an expanded assortment available nationwide on Kohls.com, the addition of Babies ‘R’ Us at Kohl’s will offer more customers – including the next generation of families – the opportunity to shop Kohl’s wide array of offerings for every day, and every major milestone moment,” reads a recent statement on Kohls.com.

Of the new locations — which are expected to begin offering Babies “R” Us products as soon as August — nine Kohl’s locations stocked with Babies “R” Us products will be on Long Island.

In 2018, Babies “R” Us and its sister brand Toys “R” Us began closing on Long Island and nationwide as their parent company, Toys “R” Us, Inc., started liquidating its assets after filing for bankruptcy.

In 2021, New York City-based WHP Global acquired both brands, later opening Toys “R” Us locations in a majority of Macy’s, as well as flagship standalone stores for each brand at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, N.J.
