New York Lottery officials announced today that two third prize-winning tickets — each worth $50,000 — were sold on Long Island for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing.
One of the tickets was sold at the Walmart located in the Centereach Mall in Centereach, while the other was purchased at Williston Park Dairy, located at 675 Willis Ave. in Williston Park.
The first five numbers selected in the drawing were 02, 26, 45, 46 and 52. The red Power Ball number drawn was 21.
Third-prize winners have matched the numbers on four of the five white balls drawn, while also matching the number of the red Power Ball. The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The red Power Ball is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
A third third-prize winning ticket in the Sept. 25 Powerball drawing was sold in Brooklyn — at Venus Wines and Spirits, 494 Lorimer St.
