Suffolk cops are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered Wednesday evening from the Nissequogue River in Kings Park.
Three days after Suffolk Police Marine Bureau officers responded to a 911 call regarding a man in distress in the river, police on Wednesday discovered a man’s body in the water near Old Dock Road.
A physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives said a preliminary investigation indicates the death appears to be non-criminal in nature. The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his relatives,
The initial 911 call came in on Sunday about 7:49 p.m., police said. Police located the body about 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
