Longtime Patchogue resident, community leader appointed to Village Board

Village Notes

The Village of Patchogue has appointed longtime resident and community leader Stephen “Steve” Fuoco to its Board of Trustees, filling the vacancy left by the passing of Trustee Joseph Keyes.

Fuoco, who will serve as commissioner of Patchogue Parks and Rec, brings decades of civic experience to the board.

He previously served as a village trustee from 1996 to 2004, during which he helped lead several major redevelopment efforts — including the reopening of Patchogue Theatre, revitalization of the Lace Mill and Breslin sites, and the closure of substandard housing, village officials said.

A Seton Hall High School graduate, Fuoco moved back to Patchogue with his wife Jean in 1986 to raise their three children. He co-founded the Patchogue First Party and was instrumental in electing Mayor Paul Pontieri’s administration, contributing to the village’s long-term revitalization.

Professionally, Fuoco studied economics at Stony Brook University and currently works with Bradley & Parker in Melville as a certified insurance counselor and risk manager.

He’s also known for his community service with the Patchogue Rotary, Patchogue Youth Athletic Association, Citizens Campaign for the Environment, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, and the Fuoco Golf Festival.

The village welcomed Fuoco back to the board this month and says it looks forward to his continued service.
