Two-time major champion Bryson DeChambeau is officially coming to Long Island this fall for the 2025 Ryder Cup.
That’s according to U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, who confirmed to Sports Illustrated that DeChambeau will be on the team competing at Bethpage Black — no matter where he finishes in the standings.
“Bryson is going to be a very important piece to us winning the Ryder Cup,” Bradley said. “He brings so much. He brings energy, passion — but most importantly, he’s one of the best players on the planet.”
DeChambeau, currently ranked No. 15 in the world, sits fifth in the Ryder Cup points standings. The top six earn automatic spots on the U.S. team.
But here’s where things get complicated.
Ryder Cup points are earned through PGA Tour events. DeChambeau plays for LIV Golf, whose events don’t count toward the standings. With four events left to earn points, it’s possible he could be bumped out of the top six.
If that happens, Bradley said he will use one of his six captain’s picks on DeChambeau.
The only golfer to have officially qualified so far is world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who just won The Open Championship in Northern Ireland. The current top six also includes Xander Schauffele, J.J. Spaun, Russell Henley, DeChambeau and Harris English.
Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa are among those still in contention to qualify.
Team Europe won the last Ryder Cup in 2023 in Italy. The event at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale begins Sept. 23.
