One of Long Island’s biggest summer carnivals is rolling back into Sayville this weekend.
The Sayville Summerfest, presented by the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce, runs Friday through Sunday, Aug. 1–3, with rides, games, food courts, live music, and vendors throughout downtown and Gillette Park.
Attendees can expect carnival rides for all ages — from the kiddie classics to thrillers like Pharaoh’s Fury, Super Shot, Rock Star and Tokyo Drift — courtesy of Newton Shows.
“We will have family-friendly rides and games of skill that the boys and girls will love,” said Mike Newton, owner of Newton Shows. “You could not find a better location for Summerfest. Sayville is a lovely area and a great place to live and raise a family.”
Also on the schedule:
- The Hon. John Cohalan 4 Mile Run kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Main Street, with a Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. at Gillette Park.
- A Classic Car Show takes over Main Street Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“It gets better and better every year,” said Eileen Tyznar, chairman of Sayville Summerfest and the chamber’s immediate past president. “I love how this tradition has carried on since 1979.”
