Suffolk marine cops pulled two men from the Great South Bay on Sunday after their sailboat overturned near East Islip, police said.
The 19-foot vessel capsized about one mile south of East Islip Marina about 5 p.m. One of the men was able to call 911 from his cell phone.
Marine Juliet, crewed by Lt. Thomas Stanzoni and Officers Robert Reuter and Kevin Butler, then came to the rescue.
The officers saved a 48-year-old man who was clinging to the mast in the water and a 58-year-old man who was sitting on the side of the boat, police said.
Both men were wearing life jackets and were not hurt. The Coast Guard Auxiliary later towed the sailboat back to the marina.
