A Nassau County Highway Patrol officer was seriously injured in a crash with another vehicle Monday, Suffolk County Police confirmed.
The accident occurred at the intersection of North Wellwood Avenue and Jerome Street. Photographs from the scene show a Toyota Tundra pickup with severe front-end damage and a police motorcycle lying on its side under the front of the truck, Newsday reported.
Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit are investigating the incident, police said.
