|

Police arrested a Mastic man on Saturday morning after police said he inappropriately touched three children on separate occasions inside a Medford TJ Maxx.

Suffolk police said Jimmy Harry Velasquez Gomez, 44, was nabbed in front of 6 Main St. in East Islip after detectives determined he had inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl at the Horseblock Road store about 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Further investigating revealed that Gomez had also inappropriately touched a 7-year-old and an 11-year-old at the same T.J. Maxx on April 21 and Sept. 25, police said.

Gomez was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was being held by Suffolk police and was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Detectives are asking anyone who believes they, or their children, may have been a victim of Gomez to contact the Special Victims Section at 631.852.6184.
