Suffolk police want the public’s help in identifying a woman who fled the scene of a crash in Huntington last month — and the photo they released shows a driver who looks furious behind the wheel
The hit-and-run occurred Nov. 26 about 5:50 p.m. on Park Avenue, police said. An SUV traveling north crossed into the opposite lane and struck a southbound 2009 Toyota driven by a 68-year-old man.
The man driving the Toyota was not injured.
The driver of the other vehicle, which police believe was a dark red 2018-2023 Subaru Crosstrek, didn’t stay to exchange information or wait for police, authorities said. She instead sped off, police said.
Hoping to generate leads, the department this week released a close-range photo of the suspect during what appears to be a heated moment inside the vehicle.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information can anonymously call 1.800.220.TIPS, use the P3 Tips app, or submit a tip online at P3Tips.com. Police said all communications will be kept confidential.
