Silver Alert for Coram man with dementia who vanished as storm began

Suffolk Police have issued a Silver Alert for a Coram man with dementia who wandered from an assisted living facility as a blizzard arrived on Long Island Sunday.

Jeffrey Jarmel, 75, who resides at All American Assisted Living at 436 Middle Country Road, was reported missing after walking away from the facility about 6:44 a.m., police said.

Jarmel is described as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 172 pounds. He is bald with brown eyes. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing blue jeans and a blue winter jacket with white stripes.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen Jarmel or has information about his whereabouts to call 911 or contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631.854.8652.
