Ross Dress for Less opens stores in Lake Grove and Riverhead on March 7

|

Ross Dress for Less is doubling its Long Island footprint this weekend, with two new stores set to open Saturday, March 7, in Lake Grove and Riverhead.

The Lake Grove location is at 3210 Middle Country Road, while the Riverhead store will open at 1080 Old Country Road.

Both stores are expected to operate from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.

The expansion follows the retailer’s successful debut on Long Island last summer, when its first store opened in Hempstead to long lines and packed parking lots. Shoppers arrived early and turned out in force for discounted brand-name clothing, shoes, accessories and home décor.

Momentum continued a few months later in Farmingville, where an October grand opening drew similar fanfare, including a DJ, ribbon-cutting celebration and steady crowds throughout the day.

Ross is known for offering name-brand merchandise at 20 to 60 percent below typical department store prices. Its no-frills layout and “treasure hunt” atmosphere — where inventory shifts frequently — have helped fuel its popularity, particularly among cost-conscious shoppers.

With more than 1,800 locations nationwide, the chain has been steadily expanding in the Northeast.
