Welcome home!
New homeowners in Sayville found a slithering python snake waiting for them inside their house when they moved in on Tuesday.
Strong Island Animal Rescue reports that they received a call about the four-foot snake from the homeowners, and rescued the reptile after quickly responding to the scene.
“We were happy to assist the police in getting him out of the house safely and into our care,” the rescue outfit said in a Facebook post late Tuesday. “The homeowners had just moved in and are thinking that it might have been lost in the house when the previous owner lived there.”
Strong Island noted that the snake is a legal pet snake that “was just lost.” A rescuer removed the snake and took it a way in a bucket.
