Earl L. Vandermeulen High School student Dylan Dugourd is making a name for himself — on a national scale.
The sophomore was named a national medalist in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. His video game design was selected from among 350,000 works of art and writing submitted nationwide.
Dugourd’s work earned a silver medal after being chosen as the “most accomplished” by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers.
He will be recognized at a national ceremony at Cargenie Hall this June.
“Receiving the award is motivating,” Dugourd said. “To be able to share my creation on this level is exciting. It shows me that my hard work is paying off.”
