Adventureland is back! The Farmingdale amusement park reopens after year-plus shutdown

|

Adventureland is back bringing fun to families on Long Island.

The amusement park, located in East Farmingdale, reopened on Saturday after a year-plus-long shutdown due to the pandemic.

“Thanks for all your support in getting us to this day!” reads a Facebook post by Adventureland. “Now it’s time to have a great 2021 season and let the memories begin!”

The park, founded in 1962, announced last March it wouldn’t open for the 2020 season.

The first people back at Adventureland happened this March 27 to April 5, when the park opened up its arcade and the restaurant for a local spring break.

Now families can enjoy the full extent of the park this spring, weekends and holidays only. It will expand its hours in the summertime.

To adhere to state guidelines, Adventureland is operating at 33 percent capacity, and has new sanitization stations spread throughout the grounds.
