The announcement was made on social media this afternoon, months after the café shocked longtime customers by announcing its closure after 12 years in business.
As Greater Long Island previously reported, owner Rose shared the news in early September, explaining in an Instagram message that while the restaurant was closed for a scheduled vacation, she took time to reflect and ultimately decided not to reopen. The brief announcement prompted an outpouring of disappointment and gratitude from loyal patrons across the South Shore.
Since then, the café’s social media accounts had remained quiet — until yesterday, when Morning Rose teased that “big news” was coming.
That news arrived today: Morning Rose Cafe plans to reopen, much to the excitement of the Bellmore community. No reopening date has been announced.
Greater Long Island has reached out to the owner for additional details and is awaiting a response.
