Discount grocer ALDI will open its newest Long Island store in Ronkonkoma on Thursday.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m., immediately followed by the start of regular hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. the same day.
The 147 Ronkonkoma Ave. location will be ALDI’s latest addition following a wave of recent openings across Suffolk and Nassau counties. Earlier this month, the retailer debuted a new store in Bethpage.
The German-based grocery store chain’s entry into Lake Ronkonkoma was first reported in December 2024, when Greater Long Island outlined plans for three Long Island stores in 2025 — in Medford, Bethpage and Lake Ronkonkoma. The Lake Ronkonkoma site was formerly occupied by King Kullen.
Aldi first hit the Long Island market in 2011 with a store in Bay Shore. Since then, it has also set up shop in Lindenhurst, Patchogue, Selden, Lake Grove, Riverhead, Rocky Point, Bohemia, Valley Stream, Carle Place, North Babylon, Shirley, Hempstead, Central Islip and East Northport.
