Mike Theodorakis fell in love with trains as a kid.
“The sounds and clatter of the train,” he recalls. “The whistles. The steam engine.”
Now 69 and living in Stony Brook, he’s built up one of the most impressive train sets in the country.
The set, he says, is a reflection of his own journey in life.
“All my family’s on it,” he said. “Moments in their lives are captured.”
There’s even a replica of Yankee Stadium, complete with players.
Scenes from Phsyco, Casablanca, The Wizard of Oz, even Beetlejuice are reflected as well.
