Cops said a man smashed the front glass door of the Massapequa burger landmark before dawn Monday and fled
Nassau Police have released surveillance images of a suspect wanted in connection with the burglary at All American Hamburger Drive-In in Massapequa.
The department’s Seventh Squad detectives said the burglary occurred at 4:10 a.m. Monday at the iconic Merrick Road takeout joint. Police said the suspect broke the front glass door and entered the store before fleeing in an unknown direction.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not said what, if anything, was taken.
Seeking public’s help
The suspect is described as a man wearing camouflage cargo shorts, a black shirt, black sneakers and a red face covering.
The break-in temporarily shut down the beloved burger spot, which has served Massapequa (and Long Island) since 1963. The restaurant was reopened for business by Monday afternoon.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Nassau County Police Crime Stoppers at 1.800.244.TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
