American Cheese in Sayville focuses on pop-up events, as it looks for a new home

|

Foodie fan favorite American Cheese has shifted its focus to hosting pop-up events, as it searches for a new storefront to pitch its tent of deliciousness.

Erin Nicosia-Lennon, who owns American Cheese with her husband Christian, told GreaterSayville that “we’re working on some pop-ups with our friends in town, until we find a new spot.”

Around the height of the pandemic in 2020, the Lennons closed American Cheese’s popular Railroad Avenue location in Sayville. The shop had called that spot home for seven years. Before that, the couple operated American Cheese in West Sayville for three years.

The cheese shop briefly reopened late last month inside the refurbished Thornhill’s Pharmacy building in downtown Sayville. Around Thanksgiving and during the December holiday season, as well as for the Super Bowl in February, American Cheese offered delivery of celebratory meat and cheese platters in the Sayville area.
